Sound of the Sea will be presenting an evening featuring several of the artists on their roster on Saturday March 9th at the Happy Dog 5801 Detroit Avenue. The show begins at 9pm; admission is $5.
The show’s headliner FITS OF HAIL’s recent ep/7” Belmore was touted by noted rock writer Fred Mills (Option, Spin, the Bob) as “utterly gorgeous—sonically and visually…a pair of must-hear tracks (…) make a moody-yet-joyful noise of an irresistible earworm quality…allow me to state for the record: Fits of Hail. Long-player. Now.” One can have a sneak preview of three of the tracks from (you guessed it) their upcoming long-player here.
Cleveland trio STRANGE MESSENGER’s gnarly rock features insidiously catchy tunes that bring to mind Cle rawk of the mid-to-late ‘70s. The group’s 6-song debut cd is scheduled for early spring release on Sound of the Sea, and can be heard at the group’s bandcamp page.
Opening duo THE HIGH SEASON’s blend of mountain harmonies served over stripped-down instrumentation makes its debut this evening. Their first video “right where you left me” can be checked out here.
